What counts.
- A marketing contact
- A unique contact subscribed to at least one marketing topic. Each person counts once, however many topics they follow.
- Transactional-only people
- People who only receive receipts, OTPs and alerts live on the same list but are not billed as contacts.
- Unsubscribed contacts
- Kept on your list, so nobody is mailed after opting out, and not billed. The same goes for bounced and suppressed addresses.
- A transactional email
- Each recipient counts once, so one message to three addresses counts as three. Each email you receive counts as one.

What counts as a contact?
A unique contact subscribed to at least one marketing topic. People who only receive transactional mail, such as receipts and OTPs, live on the same list and are not billed as contacts. Unsubscribed, bounced and suppressed contacts are kept for compliance and are not billed either.
What counts as an email?
On the transactional meter, each recipient of an email counts once, and each email you receive counts once. Marketing sends are counted separately against the sends your contact tier includes: 10 times the tier, each month.
What happens if I go over?
On the free allowance, sending pauses at 3,000 emails a month or 100 a day. Nothing is charged.
On a paid transactional tier, emails beyond the tier are charged per 1,000 at that tier’s rate, from ₹30$0.32 down to ₹20$0.22. The calculator above picks whichever tier costs you least.
On the marketing meter, crossing a contact tier moves you to the next tier at your next renewal. There is no mid-month charge and sending never stops. Sends beyond the included amount cost ₹20$0.22 per 1,000.
How does GST work on my invoice?
Rupee prices exclude GST, and 18% GST is added on the invoice. If your place of supply is in the same state as ours, that is CGST 9% plus SGST 9%; otherwise it is IGST 18%. The total is the same either way. Your GSTIN will be printed on every tax invoice, so you can claim input tax credit.Coming
Can I pay from outside India?
Yes, in US dollars. USD prices are a separate price list that we set and review ourselves; they are not converted from rupees at checkout. How Indian GST applies to customers outside India is still being confirmed.
Which payment methods can I use?

Under RBI’s e-mandate rules, a recurring card or UPI charge above ₹15,000 needs you to approve that charge (for example with an OTP), and your bank or UPI app notifies you at least 24 hours before each recurring debit.
Can I use only one half?
Yes. Either meter can be zero: send only transactional email, or only campaigns. You can add the other meter whenever you need it, on the same account and invoice.
Where is my data stored?

Who is responsible for consent under the DPDP Act?
For your contacts, you are the Data Fiduciary: you decide why their data is collected. Refiremail processes it on your behalf as a Data Processor, under a data processing agreement. The consent ledger records who agreed to what, when and how. Read the draft DPA
Can an agency re-bill its clients?
The Agency plan is a ₹4,999 + GST$55 monthly platform fee with 25 client sub-accounts included, and usage pooled across clients on both meters. Client sub-accounts are coming. Once they open, the invoice will have a line per client, so you can pass each cost on.Coming Talk to us
